The West County Winds is an adult concert band (or wind ensemble) that has been delighting audiences since 1985. The band has grown over the years and now performs in a variety of musical styles ranging from classical to contemporary and popular. We produce two or three concerts per year, in fall and spring, and have performed at civic events throughout Contra Costa County and in Golden Gate Park.

Everyone is invited to our coming concerts. To learn more about the band and the music we play, review programs from our past concerts and listen to excerpts from our performances.

We rehearse Monday evenings during the school year at El Cerrito High School. We are sponsored by Contra Costa College; participation is offered as a non-credit tuition-free course in the college’s Adult Outreach Program.

Prospective members may be accepted based on instrumentation needed; sections may be limited in size. Interested musicians should be prepared to play at the college or advanced high school level of proficiency. Auditions or trial rehearsals may be used to assess musicianship and compatibility with the band's goals.
